In a new video shared on his verified Instagram page, the veteran actor revealed that he has been ill for several weeks and has been hospitalized.

Mr Ibu stated in the heartbreaking clip that doctors have informed him that they may have to amputate his leg if all other options are exhausted.

He is calling for prayers and support, and has shared his account number with the public.

Mr Ibu’s daughter, Jasmine Okafor, further explained that her father’s condition is not improving and they have depleted all their financial resources, hence the appeal to the public.

She is appealing to anyone who can assist in flying him abroad for better treatment.

Azaco news had earlier reported that fans and admirers of Mr Ibu had sent their prayers to him as he celebrated his birthday in the hospital.

The veteran actor turned 62 on Tuesday and celebrated his birthday with his wife and children while in the hospital.

Jasmine Okafor, his daughter, shared a heart-wrenching video of him on a hospital bed with a cake and juice pack in front of him, as he sat up in pain to celebrate with them.

She expressed her sadness at seeing him celebrate what was meant to be a joyous occasion in the hospital, and revealed that he has been fighting a tough battle for the past two weeks but remains strong.

Jasmine added that her greatest wish is to see him healthy and back on his feet.
